Lloyd Shanley Town Historian, Searching through piles of papers and books at the Harwinton Library Museum, found the following information contained in an unsigned booklet of statistics. These records allow the reader insight into the lives of common people over 150 years ago. I have rearranged the headings to better represent the categories.
